Washington Grammar School Classmates Still Gather!

Growing up in the Italian community of Little Italy and the vicinity of Washington Grammar School created a bond among former classmates that has endured for the past sixty plus years. Most of the families resided near the school and eventually moved to other parts of San Diego. However, many of the former classmates' past would cross and community, civic, and religious events throughout the years. Today there are several group of classmates that meet periodically for lunch or breakfast and reminisce about the good old days. One such group of approximately 50 guys, referred to as "That Old Gang of Mine," meets every month for dinner, once a year for a family picnic and a Christmas party. These gatherings express the definition of Convivio: Convivio is a state of mind. Whenever you may see a group of people breaking bread together as the Italians so famously do, enjoying the moment, the company, and the conversation, that is the essence of Convivio. Think of love of life and culture when these former classmates get together--that's Convivio!
